On the way to the library today I saw a white Volvo 780 Bertone at a left turn light with a very elderly couple inside...the woman was driving and at the light they were examining something on the center console...I wonder if they know what a special car they have...its only the second 780 I've seen in the area, the other one being beigeish brown, and I've never seen one so close before! Are they very common? I only discovered what they are a few months ago, and I still haven't seen a 282C Bertone. Images below from Hemmings...

Yeah, since I grew up in 740s I have a soft spot for all Volvos, especially 700 series boxes...there was a high mileage one for sale in Oakland a few months ago (too far, I live in San Jose/Saratoga...), plus the fact that I'm still only 14...

Found it! But it has a salvage title and 5 cyl? I thought they all came with the PRV V6?

My parents almost bought one in the late 90's but they were asking too much. 10 years later it was still sitting, rotting in the backlot of the same dealer. They were still asking $7500 for it. They ended up scrapping it when the dealer closed. My Dad offered them $2500 for it because he has a thing for old Volvo's and didn't want to see it rot, but they wouldn't budge.

Yeah, it looked exactly like the one in the picture, down to the wheels. It was just sitting on flats and didn't run. Rust free too...
